Formula 1 illustrations on Twitch

Published by Suisei at 09/07/2020 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Today I come to propose you a live drawing session on Twitch. It will take place on Sunday 12 July from 2 pm.

During this session I will finish colors of these illustrations.

I had fun imagining a Capsule Corp. (Dragon Ball) Formula 1 team. Note that Akira Toriyama himself a F1 fan had made several illustrations with his characters at the wheel of a McLaren of the Prost/Senna era. =D

This second illustration is a tribute to the first podium won by Pierre Gasly at the 2019 Brazilian Grand Prix at the end of a crazy race.

There, I had warned that I would come back with this subject. x)
Note that the date and time of the stream is not random. Indeed, it will take place during the next Formula 1 Grand Prix, the second Austrian Grand Prix renamed Styrian Grand Prix! =D
I'm going to put the Grand Prix as a thumbnail in a corner of the stream to accompany the drawing session and I propose you to join me on the vocal of Discord to comment the race, chat and laugh.
I will surely trigger some wild lives before to do some tests during free practice or qualifying. x)

Otherwise, for those waiting for the comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller impatiently, I will send it to print at the end of this weekend, after receiving the last fanarts for the gallery at the end of the comic book. =D

That's all for today.
Have a nice day and see you on Sunday! :D

Drink'N'Draw Tarkhan Skullkiller

Published by Suisei at 29/06/2020 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Today I come to announce that the next theme of the Drink'N'Draw Paris will be Tarkhan Skullkiller ! :D

And here is a list of all the themes for the next two months.

This time, it will be your turn to take the pencil to draw barbarians, wizards, dragons and other skeletons! :p
Your contributions will be published in a gallery dedicated to fanarts at the end of the comic book, so if you feel like doing a little auto promotion by showing us your talents, now's your chance! :D
I will also open a fanarts section on the website where you will can find your illustrations.

You can send your contributions to the Drink'N'Draw Paris email: dndparispage@gmail.com.

For information, the comic book will be printed in black and white. So if you put colors, they will appear in grayscale. On the other hand, for the online version, you can put as many colors as you want. :D

To stay in the practical info, the bar where we usually draw is still closed and no opening date has been announced yet, so in the meantime we continue to draw online on Aggie.io discussing on Discord on Wednesdays from 8pm. For those who would just like to watch, the collective drawing session will also be streamed on Twitch.
Of course, contributions made outside of this online session are accepted while they are delivered before July 8th.

Since the comic book has not yet arrived in your hands, it is natural that you are not yet familiar with the characters, so I put some references here. You can enlarge the pictures with a right click and by opening them in new tabs.
Of course, the first 20 pages of the comic book still available for free reading on the website can help you too. :)

You will note that in the list of themes for the next two months one of the boxes has been left black.
Indeed, one of the members of Drink'N'Draw Paris, Khali, left us suddenly and far too young recently. é_è
We are therefore dedicating a theme to her as a tribute.

That's all for the news of the day.
Take care and let's meet again on Wednesday. :)

Tarkhan Skullkiller: back cover finished

Published by Suisei at 23/06/2020 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Today I'm posting this news to show you the illustration of the back cover which is finished too! :D

And this is how it will look like on the comic book.

So the whole part of creation and realization of the comic book id finished. Now I have just few editorial things to do while waiting for the last contributors' answers for their reward options and the last fanarts for the gallery at the end of the comic book.
It was a big adventure during which I have learned and perfected a lot of things. :D

I filled a whole archive binder and my hard drives with this comic book. x)

While waiting to send the comic book to print, I'll be able to come back and deal with Tipeee and Patreon. :D
Yes, the Ululers were not the only patrons during this adventure, there were also the Tipeee's and Patreon's patrons who contributed each month to make possible the release of this comic book. So we thank them very much! :D

I will translate the comic (for Patreon) and format the pages to deliver them to the patrons in the following days and weeks.
Finally, there will be no free publication for Tarkhan pages beyond page 20. The following pages will be published exclusively for Ulule contributors and patrons as well as any other purchaser of the comic book.

Once all the tasks related to Ulule completed, I will propose a new version of the Tipeee and Patreon pages, with a content more adapted to my activities and simpler. Like many artists, I got a bit fooled by proposing content that required extra work to my usual activities (namely my comics and software development). I was not able to do everything when I was unemployed, so now that I've found a full-time job, it's going to be even more complicated.

So, in the next version, I'm going to do something simpler and more relevant.

I will remove unnecessary content that slows down my main activities and add in the rewards content relating to an activity that I had previously excluded from crowdfunding, even though it takes up a large part of my time: software development, which includes the Péguy project, a graphic software that has already helped me a lot in the creation of my own comics and that I will eventually propose as a web application, my game projects as well as a comic book platform project, already in progress, adapted to the needs of my friends.

I realized that the news would be too long if I get into the details, so I'll tell you about it next time.

Have a nice week and see you soon! :D

Tarkhan Skullkiller, the pages of the comic book are finished!

Published by Suisei at 17/06/2020 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Today I post this news to announce you that the pages of the comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller are FINISHED! :D

Yes, I gave in to the temptation to use nutty gif. :p

I'm currently finishing the illustration for the back cover. It will be finished this weekend. :D
Here is the progress of the work. As you can see, I make a color version of Tarkhan's illustration in black and white that you can choose for your prints. ^^

The print layout of the front cover, on the other hand, is finished and will look like this.

So the comic will be printed very soon and we thank you again with all our heart, because it is thanks to you, dear contributors, that this has been possible. :D

I have already sent a small mail to contributors who have not yet indicated their choice of counterparty options.
I say already because I'm lazy about writing emails. If I announce first that I'm going to send one, it might take a long time, so this time I did it before writing this news. That way it doesn't drag on any longer. x)

I indicated that the deadline for responding was July 1st, 2020. Once this date has passed, we will choose the visuals for the prints and the characters for the signed sketches provided with the comic book for contributors who have not expressed a wish. Don't panic, we won't send you the illustration of naked Tarkhan in the river if you haven't explicitly requested it. x)

Yes, that illustration there.
I'm actually quite surprised at how many times it has been selected. I hope you've noticed that the emoticon will be removed on the print. x)

Now, I go back to my markers and thank you again !
Have a nice day and see you soon! :D

Tarkhan Skullkiller : screentones finished!

Published by Suisei at 09/06/2020 à 15h45
Updated by Suisei at 08/06/2020 à 21h38

Hi everyone!

Today I'm posting this news to announce you that I've finished put the screentones and the sound effects on the comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller ! :D

Screentones: greyscales based on dot patterns.

There's gonna be some fighting in this comic book. :p

I have almost finished to work on the comic page.
There's just one step left and I propose you to do it together on Twitch, next Friday, June 12, 2020 at 8pm. :)

What is this step?

These are the speed and shock effects that are often simulated by lines in manga. You can see some of them on the some pages published online.

Then why do I want to show you this step?

Well, I'm not going to do it by hand or use any software available from the market.
I'm going to use a little software called Péguy that I programmed myself and that I've been using for a little while now and that I continue to develop.

This software doesn't generate only speed lines. It also allows you to generate perspective stone walls and other stuff. :p

The session on Twitch will be the occasion to make you discover Péguy, what it already can do and also introduce the features under development.
You can of course take the opportunity to ask your questions in the Twitch chatbox or on the Discord vocal chat. :)

To be honest, once Tarkhan is finished, I will spend the summer working on this software project in order to make the new features available for next fall. I think I have many advantages to take from this tool given the services it has already provided me. :)

Have a nice week and see you Friday!

Some brushes for Tarkhan Skullkiller

Published by Suisei at 22/05/2020 à 15h45

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sending you this post to give you some news about the progress of the comic book Tarkhan Skullkiller.

I just finished a whole bunch of reusable graphics and brushes for Clip Studio Paint in order to finish the comic book pages in a reasonable amount of time.

I finished this phase which is not very exciting to stream, so I'll be able to resume live drawing sessions on Twitch. :)
I propose one this Saturday, May 23rd, from 6:00 p.m. until... Until I'm fed up or I've finished a stage, so probably until midnight or 1 am. That way, you can watch the stream when you want. x)
As you can imagine, this time it will be digital work with Clip Studio Paint, so if you want to know more about this software and ask questions, this will be the perfect time for that. :)

Have a nice evening and see you Saturday!

Drink'N'Draw on Twitch !

Published by Suisei at 19/05/2020 à 15h45

Hello, everybody!

A few weeks have passed since my last post, so some new sessions of Drink'N'Draw online too!
So I post here our collective participations, always made on Aggie.io. :)
Let's start with the theme of April 22th: cars.

And here's the zoom on my performance.

So for those who didn't know, I take this opportunity to reveal an old passion that resurfaced during the year 2019 thanks to a buddy: Formula 1.
I'll talk about that again in the future. :p

Here, I illustrated the reigning world champion: Lewis Hamilton who races for Mercedes.

I've planned two more illustrations on the same theme. They are in progress, but as they are a bit ambitious and as I don't want to delay Tarkhan Skullkiller more, it is taking time.

Then, the theme of April 29th was dedicated to a crossover comics between Power Rangers and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
As our dear friend JD has bathe us a little (let's call a spade a spade :p ) with his theme, we kind of sabotaged it. =D

A little zoom on my... performance...

I wanted to do something completely ridiculous, so I drew Rita, the very first vilain in Power Rangers series with a turtle shell. If someone had told me that one day I would draw that character...

Then comes the theme of May 6th: Tales of Zestiria. If I understood everything correctly, it's an anime from the video game series Tales of.

Here is a little zoom in on my illustration.
Not much to say this time. We don't know enough about this theme and we've stayed nice.
I'm pretty happy with the colors I made.

And finally, last week's theme: Ellen Ripley from Alien.
As there were more of us this time, we had to work on 2 different files.

This time I tried a new range of colours for a completely different atmosphere.

That's all for this time.

Next Wednesday (May 20) we will address a theme that is dear to my heart.

Knights of the Zodiac !!!

More precisely, we will linger on the 5 five bronze knights who lost the galactic tournament at the beginning of the manga, namely Jabu the Unicorn, Geki the Bear, Ichi the Hydra, Ban the Little Lion and finally Nachi the Wolf!

As usual, we will meet from 8pm in audio conference on Discord and we will draw on Aggie.io.

This time we'll try something new. For those who don't plan to draw but still want to watch, we will broadcast the drawing session on Twitch. As this is a test, to start with we'll do it on my own channel.

That's all for today.
If you feel like coming to draw with us, the doors are open to everyone! :)

Have a nice week and see you soon!
