When you have selected Status in the menu, the window containing the list of characters in your group becomes active to select the character whose information you want to see.
You can select the character whose informations you are interested in using the arrow keys and validate your choice by pressing the enter key or clicking on it.
Once the character selected, his informations are displayed: his name, his job, his current level, his experience points, the experience points that are missing before his next level, his hit points, his points of magic, as well as its abilities values.
